Teaching and methodology.

Your child will be taught using a blend of Montessori and traditional methods. This combination fosters creative study habits that students carry into their academic subjects as well. Emphasis is put on correct hand position, fingering, dynamics, phrasing and rhythm. Suzanne is creative in her teaching approach. Students are given a strong foundation with assignments that target scales, music theory, sight reading and repertoire. Learning is fun and each lesson ends with the student having a sense of accomplishment.

Suzanne’s instruction is flexible to accommodate any type of learner. She prepares students for ABRSCM and NYSSMA exams Suzanne also specializes in middle and upper school auditions. In the past she has been a judge for NYSSMA and the National Piano Guild. Her extensive experience and training has made her a successful teacher for students on the autism spectrum. Beginners to college applicants, are all welcomed students in Suzanne’s studio.
